There is no denying that the world we live in has never seen a time of health risks, economic uncertainty, violent natural phenomena, racial tension, and social struggle quite like we are experiencing these days. We have increasing reason to question our leaders and to demand that our individual voices be heard. If only a wise, powerful, benevolent wizard could wave a wand and cast a spell to make it all better!
Unfortunately, I don’t have the wisdom or the right kind of magic to fix all the problems. What I do have is a love for all children, and for the child in each adult, combined with a desire to bring smiles to faces of all shapes, sizes, and colors. I have some power to calm angry voices for a moment, and turn cries for help into wholesome laughter. I can help families to continue celebrating festivities in the face of distress, whether they be out in public, at small gatherings, or through internet connectivity.
Many good people are rising to the occasion to overcome the obstacles of these troubled times, and helping those in need to the best of their abilities. This is a time to show caring for each other, perhaps more than ever before. We must all do what we can to build a better world from the not-yet ruins. For my part, I just hope to keep a beacon of hope alight with my light-hearted wonder and whimsy.
Small miracles occur in the face of grave danger. We will survive. Be well, my friends. Stay safe and stay connected, peacefully!
